Spring Festival is the most important traditional festival in China. It is also called the Chinese New Year. It is celebrated on the first day of the lunar calendar. On this day, Chinese people always put on their new clothes and make traditional dishes for the family reunion dinner. They also set off fireworks and firecrackers to welcome the new year. People usually have a long holiday during Spring Festival, so they can visit relatives and friends.
My Spring Festival this year was really special. I went back to my hometown with my family. We cleaned the house and put up red couplets on the door. We also made dumplings and ate them together. We went to visit our relatives and friends and gave them lucky money as a gift. At night, we watched the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, which is a famous TV show in China. We enjoyed it very much.
I like Spring Festival very much, because I can have a great time with my family and friends. The atmosphere is very warm and cheerful. People are happy and relaxed. I hope that I can celebrate Spring Festival every year!
